Thursday 6 February 2014

Well, here we are again, it's time to put the good pen (you're using a keyboard actually, old bean!) to paper, (you mean the monitor, sad, sack!!) and conjure up some wit and wisdom for my readers (what, for all seven of them, one of them being yourself?).
As some of you have already realised, I have written and published a short story (You keep going on about it!), for the rest of you, there are clues to finding it elsewhere in this blog (boring!).
Now that Greed has been read by some of you (at least downloaded), I can reveal that I am currently in the final stages of my latest, world shattering, prize winning, epic volume(zzzZZZ).
It's a story based on the old curse, "I hope you wake up dead, some day!" (is it based on your own experience!?), and poor David Henrairty does, at least he think so, anyway.
I could tell you that it is a story about his struggle with the inner uncertainties of his changed condition (ya don't say, please don't say!). I could say that it is philosophically deep and extremely soul searching (eh?).
But I won't (Thank Dog!).
Cos, it ain't (we know that, already!).
It is, hopefully, that start of a short series of stories based on the adventures of teenagers David, and girlfriend Cindy Bowen (oooh, d'they snog n stuff?), as they both come to terms with what life has thrown at them.
Oh Yes, it contains some weird super powers and things, too (oh, it's sci fi, not just some made up stuff!).
Keep watching this space......

About Adrian Lacamp

Adrian is now retired and lives in the beautiful south east of Northumberland, in the United Kingdom, with his wife and their various rescue greyhounds.
His current hobbies include such diverse activities as making firewood out of failed DIY projects, supporting his wife, Hazel, in her work as a Domestic Team Supervisor for the RMBI, avoiding decorating the home, and looking after and fostering holidaying or sick greyhounds that need some TLC or are awaiting re-homing. He did voluntary work for Northumberland Greyhound Rescue, building and running their first website and carrying out hundreds of adoption visits for potential retired greyhound owners.
Apart from his fourteen years as a crime intelligence analyst for one of the countries foremost police forces, he spent a full twenty two years service in Her Majesty's Armed Forces, where he saw service in Germany (mostly) the UK, (some) and the Falklands Islands (after the 'Event').
After his time in the Armed Forces he became a self taught computer programmer, eventually teaching COBOL and Programme Design to NVQ level 3 on government sponsored re-training courses.
He has worked with several software companies over the years, designing and implementing software on both PC and mainframe platforms. He has also consulted on both commercial and bespoke software, ranging from user requirement input on a crime pattern analysis system, to being the instigator of a story mapping sub-system in a manuscript authoring application for writers.

Adrian -The Author

At long last I have realised one of my fantasies/ambitions. I can now say that I am a published author.
Okay, so it's only a (very) short story and, as of today, has been downloaded over 60 times, well, I did set the price at 'free'.
So, what was it? It is a science fiction story, about one of the most powerful men in the known universe. He gets involved in an accident, one that, if it can be replicated, could make him the single most powerful and richest man ever.
It is the tale of how he handles the accident and its consequences.

To date my story has been downloded over a hundred and thirty times.
